October 30th, 2008

November 4, 2008 some classic sketches of Winnie the Pooh and his friends will be up for auction at Bronhams. These are some original sketches that were drawn by illustrator E.H. Shepard. Some of the Winnie the Pooh sketches up for auction includes “Tiggers Don’t like Honey” which appeared in The House on Pooh Corner, and two sketches from the A.A. Mine’s Poem When We Were Young.

E.H Shepard was a famous British artist and illustrator. Along with making illustrations for Winnie the Pooh books, stories, and poems he also illustrated other characters. Shepard is known for illustrations of The Wind and the Willow. Some of these illustrations will also be up for auction on November 4th.

Shepard’s legacy of book illustrations extends to his daughter, Mary Shepard, who made illustrations for Mary Poppins.
